here is a lil timeline of how this project started back in the day....
this is what it looked like about 6-7 years ago when my sis used to drive it....

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]but at that time it was still a 2.0 automatic.... and early last year i began to convert it to a 5spd and swapped over to 5 lug.
so i ripped out the rear axle and replaced it with a disc brake one off a GTI

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]i used pieces of a g60 corrado, a 2001 jetta, and outer axle stubs off a vr6 gti to complete my swap in order to keep my front end narrowed and be able to tuck the vette wheels which are 16x8.5 in the front.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]16x8.5 fronts and 16x9.5 rears witn falken 512s and 20mm adapters all around
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]after getting the stance right and completing the 5spd swap i went into doing bodywork and paint....and black seems to be my favorite color...
bumpers came off first, and i completely shaved the front bumper, no turnsignals, no plate, no side markers, just cleaned!
