The 240 has a lil problem when we want it to go lower and that is wire harness Rubbing.
For some reason Nissan run the Main power harness behind the splash guard on the drivers side ( hanging on top of the wheel tunnel. This is not a problem if the car is left unmolested.
I'm lowering my car so I came out with this great idea on how to reroute the harness and giving you and extra 2 inches to play low.
I did tried to find a better and not so complicated solution on the internet but for some reason ppl cut and solder the wire others pull the harness to one side and sip tied it and I personally trust on my Solution.
Well I figured out a better way. No cutting, no splicing,no pulling and all wires and fuse boxes remain in the stock location..
Instruction.:
Disconnect battery and wear personal protection equipment. (PPE.) Lift the drivers side front and secure it with a jack stand.
Tools : Most of the nuts and bolts are 10mm a 18mm also a flat head and philip screw drivers. and recular basic tools.
Remove the fender and splash guard. remove wheel.
Remove Radio, arm rest and all front dash trim. Remove the glove box and all necessary radio vessel and trim.
Disconnect the airbag and take off the to plastic covers hiding the 2 star bolts. never work in front of it can detonate causing serious enjury.
Remove the steering wheel using a 17mm and pull toward you.
Remove the steering column trim by unscrewing 4 screws using a Philip screwdriver. Remove turn signal switch by removing 4 philip screws. Remove turn signal switch connectors by pressing down on the lock bottom.
Remove cluster cover by removing 2 top screws.
Remove cluster by removing 4 screws Is not necessary to disconnect the cluster just pass it trough the dash cluster hole. Or disconnect the plugs from behind the cluster. Remove hood release cable by removing 2 10 mm bolts. Remove obd2 brake.
Dash: The dash has 4 bolts, 2 under the front air vents and 2 by each side.
Lift and pull forward,
Wire harness:::::
Now cut all the harness retainers that look like zip ties.
Remove the 2 screws holding the drivers side air duct and work it out by pulling and twisting hard to one side.
Remove the trim cover of the fuse box and remove the 10 mm screw holding it.
Turn it over and remove fuse box connectors.
Move up and use a 10 mm socket or wrench to unbolt the 2 main power blocks.
Clear the harness and unroute until is free.
Work the harness out of the cabin trough the factory hole. be careful no to pull hard or to brake a connector.
On the engine bay:
disconnect the brake fluid level sensor connector
Disconnect the a/c and pressure switch connectors.
Make a whole next to the original of the same size. Reroute the harness and use the original weather boot from the harness.
Fabricate with thin sheet metal some brackets or go to your local hard ware store and buy electrical conduct retainers.
Fasten the brackets or retainers with self taping screws.
Re connect all sockets and install everything back..
