I was wondering what set ups all the turbo owners are running around here. I began with a MAP Clamp years ago, worked up to an SAFCII and Water/Alcohol injection a few years ago. These days I am on an N2MB Boost Box, DSP, and a 91 and an E85 rescale. I was just wondering who's running turbo's and what supporting mods they have, and what you are doing to enhance performance.
My setup: 3 Bar MAP and TIP (Rescaled via CMR) 1025cc Injectors (Rescaled via CMR) TD05HR Turbo (Ported along with Exhaust manifold and O2 Housing) On 91 octane I am running about 9-12* timing advance. Boost controller (Set to 7psi in 1st, 11psi in 2nd, and 22psi in 3rd, 4th and 5th) On E85: unknown timing so far, as I have yet to tune my new setup on E85 (Happens this weekend YAY!) Other mods are for handling and traction, but thats another thread, this one's power based. Car weighs 2900lbs. Dyno numbers will be avaliable within the next few months.

I have seen a lot of people boost high without 3 bar map and Tip sensors, reaearch goes a long way. I wanna see this TECIIIr program. It shouds interesting. Any screen shots? I think my injectors are 80lbs, so I assume your injectors are near 1025cc's? GT35R turbo with 4" inlet\ SIIICK!
external tial wastegate You know I have a green spring. You want it? $5!!low boost 14psi daily driven 380 rwhp 91 oct. Damn nice numbers for pump.high boost 19 psi with VP 459 rwhp linelocks Not sure what those are. cp pistons and arrow rods You install those yourself? stock head 3170 lb

Niiiiice!
Why you prefer the V8? Better mileage on the 4 banger and the power potential is there too.
I bet with some tuning we could turn that 220 into 250 in no time.

well when it comes to drifting, i could really use the low end torque. and when you consider that i can get the V8 swap done with the money i get from selling the current engine and ill end up with around the same hp and waaayyy more torque... like 300 lb ft at 2500rpm, then you cant go wrong with the V8. im going with a 5.0 Ford and not an LS1 due to the money involved.
i would need another $2K to get to 350hp, 300lb.ft. but i would have to rev the engine a lot to stay in the power and if i let off the gas id end up with turbo lag which kills a drift especially in slower tight corners
with the V8 i plan on getting a cam during the swap which should put me around 230rwhp and 300lb. ft. then i would spend around $1,200 to get 320hp, 400lb. ft.

That's a pretty good plan actually. I am glad you have thought it out.
Just gonna throw this in there since turbo lag was mentioned. I don't have any turbo lag. I spool instantly.
It can be done, if you do the research. I'll upload a video right now.......

Here's a better exapmle of how fast I can spool, and this is on a TD05HR, not a small ass TD04LR like the stock turbo is.

i know i could put together a set up that would spool almost instantly but it would be big $$ that i dont have. and no matter what i do ill never have the instant massive torque of a v8 with a 2.0L
anyways... enough v8 talk
lets see more turbo setups!
i know theres a lot more out there on IVScene

Hahaha no nixon i think theres not a lot of people boosting here... Its just a few that run boosting.... My wrx was all stock so stock setup i think it had a TD04 and it was rated at about 200awhp or a little less.

no more 9psi for the head gasket?. I'll be more worry about piston rigs, but not sure if ARP have head stubs for your motor... you may try to change that and run more psi with more confidence
