today in Mexicali, a fellow friend with an SRT invited me to the SRT meeting they have. I said well u know well my car isnt an R/T & not an SRT, he said fuck it just go. Alright then! we got there and apparently there was a neon OMFG looked really dumb he just parked with us and greeting everyone like if he was part of the club. According to the other members, they said well yours looks clean at least with no shopping cart wing and ulgy body kit. all OEM mah nigguh i said The Point is, is it fair to make fun of some one who is trying to have a clone turbo car?? mine for exmaple. kinda clone srt! Wut are ur opinios guys??

I have a very good example of this exact scenario. I met a guy in Yuma to buy some parts off of him. He has a black SXT-4. Yes, I just said that. He has a Neon SXT, that he put a turbo on. He was well on his way to having the 5th injector, and PCM in line with the appropriate hardware. He was a very nice, guy. He bought some parts from me, I bought some parts from him, and we had a few good detailed chats regarding tuning.
Unfortunately he was at a great disadvantage. He had to spend a lot of money to get his car up to par with the performance of a stock SRT-4, and that's not to mention the research required to get it accomplished correctly.
He had mentioned some people give him shit for what he was doing, and the SXT-4 sticker didn't help. Ricer? Yes, but Neons are all a bit rice, and a turbo Neon is still technically following the same rice formula that the SRT group followed. But this one small fact, that it wasn't a purebred SRT was all some other SRT owners needed to know. It was enough for some to scoff at him as if to say "How dare he imitate us."
You know what though? I see it on all platforms. EG: the guy with the fender signals, on an A spec Civic, the guy with Type-R on his D16 hatch, right next to the DX logo. And not to mention the G35 that says SKYLINE on it.
It is a inevitable act that will plague all who do it. Right or wrong, I don't think we can stop it. Even if the power to weight ratio means the imitator will beat the purebred.

very well said!! hahahaha iv seen that sticker SXT-4 before i might not have an SRT but i know my ride is damm clean compared to other neons here in the valley IMO

A clean ride is very respectable I will agree. Speaking of that, if you need to do some compounding, claying, polishing, or waxing, I have a Porter Cable DA polisher, and a set of Adam's pads. Gotta bring your own compound, polish, wax, and towels though. I am running low.
