Does Anybody Know A Good Tune Person For A Evo X

I recommend go to LA with RRE. You can start playing with Evoscan, however I don't know any close here with enough expertise on Evo X. MR or GSR? Any bold on?

EVO X Dyno Tuning using ECUFlash software:

EVOScan is used for logging (Mode 23).

$500 EVO X ECU Flash Dyno Tuning Includes:

Dyno Time, as long as it takes to get the numbers it should be making.
Set boost through the ECU and the stock dual boost solenoids.
Blue Upgraded Fuel Pump Relay
RRE Boost Pill (Allows a higher boost range and more boost at redline)
Tuning and optimizing AFR, Ignition Timing, MIVEC maps
The dyno also logs boost and AFR.

Included features/Options:
Raise main rev limit if wanted
Adjust 2 step rev limit if wanted

Note: MBCs on the stock EVO X turbo are kind of sucky. Big spike to 26-27 psi plus to try to get the turbo to hold 18 psi at redline. The stock boost control system is far superior to any manual boost controller on the stock turbo. A MBC will do a ~decent job on a large turbo like a GT-35 sized turbo.

RRE 3 Port Boost Solenoid $95
We highly recommend upgrading the stock boost solenoids to a single RRE 3 Port Boost Solenoid. The peak power will be the same as the stock solenoids and using a boost pill. However the 3 Port solenoid will keep your boost more consistent and keep any boost spikes to a minimum. There is no charge to install an RRE 3 Port boost solenoid.

EVO X Dyno Retune $150 to $300+ depending on the mods since the last tune. Flash back to stock or reload a RRE tuned map is no charge.

Please come in with at least ½ tank of gas. EVO Xs get cranky when the fuel level gets low. Weâ€ll burn through at least ¼ tank.


EVO X Dyno Tuning for Dual Maps.

Your stock 2008 and 2010 (GSR and MR) ECU can be programmed to store two maps that you can switch between at will. This feature can also be used as a fail safe for water/methanol injection systems. The maps are switched using the cruise control switch. The cruise control still continues to work normally. There is no dual map available for the 2011 or 2012 EVO X.

$630 for dual fuel maps ($130 additional over the single map tune)

You will need to supply the second fuel. E-85, 100, 104, 110, 112, C-16/Q-16.

We can also install, integrate and tune meth/water injections systems with various fail safe features. Also available is automatic switching high/low boost control integration. E-mail for more info and pricing.


Note: The additional $130 price for the dual map is only when done at the same time as the initial full $500 tune. E-Mail for pricing to add a second map to an existing RRE tune.

The turbo, injectors and fuel pump are all nicely at their limit. If you have a cat of some sort, stay with the stock DP.

Beyond this, for more power you really really should be looking at pistons and rods. All the same things that make the EVO X make more power than the EVO 8/9 up to this point, will conspire against you beyond this point. Simply running E-85 at this power level will put you close to 500 WHP on the stock appearing turbos. There is nothing confidence inspiring about the combination of 400+ HP and the stock pistons and rods when you hold one in your hand.

A clutch upgrade brings with it the possibility of a master cylinder failure. The Magnus Master Cylinder kit is the only one we suggest.

Nice, yeah not to many Evos driving around. I'm right down the block, If you every have time to show off your car let me know, I want to know how your exhaust and BOV sound. I'm completely stock and new to the evo scene.

Everything is from post from Mike W. from SoCalEvo. He is the owner of RRE. He is very active in the forum. Mike is very well known in the Evo scene in California. There is also information at roadracingengineering.com, but you can start check dyno charts at Evolutionm.net and socalevo. Evom is from all knowledge come from, however socalevo has more info about modifications that fit California emission rules; that means eastcoast always make more power with their cars.
