History: My 03 gearset works GREAT, had popout, but the 3rd gear extender fixed that.

Condition: I twisted the tip of the input shaft, upon dis-assembly I found a broken snap ring. The blocker rings have little material on them, this set has over 140K on it.

Fix: I have purchased another 03 shaft.

Press: Lol, what press? I don't have one, so I improvised bu cutting an old brake drum.

So here's the brake drum from my 64 Impala. I cut it to fit the bearing, removed it, then cut it to fit the 5th gear. I used a small hammer, and a few good whacks, with a socket on top to distribute the pressure, and it worked nicely :thumbsup: Unorthodox to say the least.

Something I found interesting, the 03 synchro material pattern is different than the 04/04 material pattern. This is my HEAVILY used and abused blocker ring on the bottom, and my new, OEM, 04/05 blocker ring on top.

The dis-assembly is not complete. I gotta figure out how I am gonna remove this snap ring.

03's dont have LSD rigth can u put an 04-05 tranny on an 03?

Yes you can, but alot of people complain about the torque steer in the car with an LSD.

LOL, no no no. The lime green and black belong to Francisco.

I didn't believe anyone here was near 360hp, even on race gas. Not in their SRT-4 current configuration. Each SRT'4 here has a fundamental flaw (except mine).

Lemme break it down quick:
Marios Orange blast: Boost control and datalogging.
Mario's White ACR: Boost control and datalogging.
Carlos's Silver: Boost control and datalogging.
Carlos's black: Nothing that I can think of ATM.
CJ's Silver: Boost control and datalogging.

These are the number 1 and 2 fundamental flaws of SRT owners everywhere. After the supporting equipment is installed (Wideband, zip ties, proper vac lines, ect) the car is ready for its potential power. Only then will small items need adjustment, like spark plug gap, heat range, waste gate pressure, ect.

We can't get to that point without boost control, and a datalogging device. One of you (you know who you are) is going to have to chuck out a few hundered dollars for your boost control due to software) The others can choose from any of the hundreds of boost controllers on the market, and datalogging devices as well, but you all know that I am going to recommend a DSP.

BTW, any 50 trim SRT is easily capable of 325 on 91 octane, and 375 on 110. It takes tuning and supporting mods though.

Any stock turbo is capable of 300 on E85, probably 275 on 110, and 250 or so on pump gas. This is not with regard to stock turbo spike. Spike is irrelevant.

I have spent countless hours researching, learning, and modding. I have seen a lot of dynographs and seen what a lot of setups can do. I chose wisely in my mods, and was greatly rewarded, spending about half what the average owner spends to achieve this power level in a safe manner.

My friend Steve knows more than me man, you should see his setup its CRAZY! SDK made him a custom manifold for his turbo.

yeah they told me hes good and does good port and polish work but heard he sucks on street tuning but hes not cheap...you pay the cost to be the boss ^_^

The factory used Mopar ATF+4 and friction modifier for the LSD equipped models.

I use, and many others use Mobil 1 High Mileage, as recommended by Ed Peters.

You need DSP: U7134. If you order one from Diablosport they will send you the correct one for your SRT.
